EDU - Education
For over a dozen years I have been involved in outdoor, in-school and out-of-school time education in both rural and inner-city settings. Presently, I coordinate the ArtSpace, a youth and community arts outreach program in historic Shaw neighborhood. Contact me for more information about upcoming opportunities.
PRINTING / PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop is the most important tool in the digital darkroom. It calls on skills that photographers and printers have developed from the first days of the medium to todays cutting edge effects. I can turn your print into a black and white masterpiece, restore generations of fading to a vintage heirloom print, create cohesive panoramics from multiple images and make unmentionables dissapear from a photograph, wheather it be a pimple, a winkle or more complicated work. Quotes start as low as just a few dollars for the easiest projects and work their way up depending on the skill and time involved.
For the better part of the 1990's I worked in a darkroom, learning my craft, checking the fixer, thanking Sprint for scenting their stop bath, and hunting down dust to little avail. All this in search of a high quality archival print. Today, the skill set transfers into a much cleaner, brighter and more environmentally friendly digital darkroom. I am available to craft prints for you from your digital files as well as your negatives and slides. All prints are archival and available on traditional and fine art papers. Prices include minor editing such as cropping, exposure compensation and color correction.
COPY WORK
Copy work is most commonly known to consumers as a "print from a print" in the hour labs. I am available for copy work of flat media up to 8.5x11 using a high-resolution flat bed scanner. For larger work, I use studio flash equipement to provide shadow and glare free lighting, shoot in the RAW digital format for optimum quality and pocess the ability to come to you, a huge advantage when dealing with large and valuable artwork.
FRAMING
One of my dearest friends is a fine craftsman and I learned from observing him as a framer, designer and artisan that it starts with the right materials. In printing and matting I only use archival materials that will protect and preserve your work for generations. I only take on work that my equipment and space can handle so you can be assured that you and your photographs and prints will be treated with respect.
